Detroit Hosts First NFL Draft in Michigan Since 1984; Top QBs Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye Expected to Attend

Top Prospects Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels Confirmed for 2024 NFL Draft Attendance

As announced by the league on Thursday, thirteen prospects have confirmed their attendance at the 2024 NFL Draft on April 25. The event will be held at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit, marking the first time the NFL will host the draft in Michigan. The list of confirmed players follows a previous lengthy list of invitees that was sent out in February, with only some players accepting the invitation.

Among the attendees, there will be a strong presence of quarterbacks, including Caleb Williams from USC, Jayden Daniels from LSU, and Drake Maye from North Carolina. These three quarterbacks are expected to lead the incoming class of signal-callers, with Williams being considered a top choice for the Chicago Bears’ No. 1 pick.

In contrast to last year’s draft, which was held at Kansas City’s National WWI Museum and Memorial and Union Station, this year’s draft will take place in Michigan. This marks the first time that Detroit has hosted the NFL Draft since 1984. The event is sure to attract thousands of fans who are eager to see their favorite prospects take center stage and hear their names called by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The event will kick off with the first round on Thursday, followed by rounds 2-7 on April 26-27. Though there have been adjustments in betting odds regarding some players like Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, it remains unclear how NFL talent evaluators and front-office members view their draft stock. McCarthy, among others, will not be attending the draft.

Among those who will attend are Missouri’s Darius Robinson, an unexpected guest who is a first team All-SEC defensive lineman and a potential first-round pick. Robinson was one of eight Missouri prospects to attend the NFL scouting combine this year, setting a record for the school.

Additionally, seven SEC players will be present at the 2024 draft, representing the most attendees from any conference this year.

Overall, it promises to be an exciting event for football fans as they eagerly await to see which prospects get selected by their favorite teams.
