The Detroit High School Sports Awards, presented by Detroit Area Honda Dealers, has announced the nominees for Boys and Girls Basketball Players of the Year. These awards are part of a nine-month student-athlete recognition program that will culminate in a red-carpet show this spring. The event will honor athletes, coaches, and teams from the greater Detroit region that participate in Michigan High School Athletic Association sports.
The live show on June 18 at The Fillmore Detroit will recognize nominees for Boys Basketball Player of the Year, as well as player of the year winners for 27 other sports. In addition to these awards, premier awards such as Courage Award, Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year, and Boys and Girls Athlete of the Year awards will be presented.
All nominees who RSVP will receive complimentary tickets to the event thanks to sponsors. Nominated athletes can register for the show online while guests of nominated athletes can purchase tickets through a provided link.
The nominees for Boys Basketball Player of the Year include Markus Blackwell, Mason Brodi, Ke’shawn Fisher, Trey McKenney, Jonathan Sanderson and Tyler Spratt while Aizyln Albanese, Indya Davis, Summer Davis Isis Johnson Musah Madison Morson Gabby Piepho are running for Girls Basketball Player of the Year award.
