Dempsey Construction Opens New Branch in Calexico, Reinforcing Commitment to Economic Growth in the Region

New Office in Calexico Opened by Dempsey Construction

Recently, Dempsey Construction, a San Diego-based company, has opened a new branch office in Calexico. This expansion is part of the company’s long-term growth strategy and was prompted by a large project they are currently working on with IRE Development. The project in question is the construction of the Calexico Gateway Center South, a 40-acre industrial park near the Calexico East Port of Entry. This project involves the construction of four buildings totaling 355,000 square feet. Additionally, there are plans for a second phase that will involve the construction of the Calexico Gateway Center North, a 60-acre area with seven additional buildings spanning approximately 800,000 square feet.

Nick Alford, vice president and principal at Dempsey Construction, stated that the success of this project will rely heavily on working with local trade partners in the Imperial Valley. He emphasized the importance of driving economic growth within the region by working closely with the local community and economy. Initially, the Calexico office will focus on projects throughout the Imperial Valley with a team of six staff members. However, as new projects begin, the company plans to rapidly expand their staff to accommodate the workload.

In addition to joining the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corp. as a member and sponsoring events like the annual Imperial Valley Economic Energy Summit on June 12th at Imperial Valley College, Dempsey Construction is committed to supporting economic development initiatives in this region. Their involvement demonstrates their commitment to supporting local businesses and communities and promoting economic growth in this area.
