Delmarva Christian Schools Celebrates Science Day with Hands-On Activities and Practical Applications of Scientific Principles

Science Day at Delmarva Christian Schools Sparks Curiosity in Young Minds

On March 14, Delmarva Christian Schools celebrated Science Day, coinciding with Pi Day. The event was aimed at elementary and middle school students to promote a deeper appreciation for science through hands-on experiences and practical applications of scientific principles.

Jessica Hague, the elementary and middle school director of instruction, emphasized the importance of dedicating half a day to science activities. She stated that the primary goal was to enhance students’ learning and cultivate a love for science by providing immersive experiences that foster critical thinking and demonstrate the practical relevance of scientific concepts.

During the event, students were fully engaged in a wide range of activities that were designed to encourage collaboration and ignite a passion for science. Elementary students participated in a variety of activities, from making root beer floats to conducting experiments with carbon dioxide fizz and Oobleck. These activities provided them with exciting and hands-on learning opportunities.

On the other hand, middle school students explored the principles of physics by applying Newton’s laws of motion to design balloon-powered cars. This practical activity not only reinforced their classroom learning but also promoted creativity and problem-solving skills among the students.

Delmarva Christian Schools remains committed to providing holistic Christian education by incorporating innovative teaching methods into their curriculum. For more information, visit delmarvachristian.org or call 302-856-4040.
