Deer Park High School Honors 72 Math and Science Elite in Annual Induction Ceremony

The annual induction ceremony for the Math and Science Honor Societies at Deer Park High School took place on March 14, welcoming a total of 72 new members. The event began with a warm welcome from Science Honor Society adviser Edward Libretto and Math Honor Society adviser Cassidy Velle, followed by a keynote speech delivered by Kaleigh Pizzirusso.

During the ceremony, current members from both honor societies were also acknowledged. Muhsin Maqsood, the President of the Math Honor Society, expressed his excitement for the new members. He highlighted the importance of years of dedication to studying and developing a passion for math and science.

Muhsin encouraged the new members to embrace a society where exploration and curiosity about the natural world, as well as how numbers play a role in it, is encouraged. He emphasized the importance of discussions with peers who share the same passion for research, allowing them to ask questions and formulate theories together.

The Science National Honor Society President, Calvin Nguyen, praised the students for their hard work and dedication to academic excellence in their respective sciences. He expressed optimism for the future, acknowledging these students as the next generation of scientific leaders not only in Deer Park but in the global community as well.
