Deborah Sherer’s Altruistic Efforts: Supporting Families of Organ Donors During Passover

Deborah Sherer demonstrates the power of compassion by collecting food packages for bereaved families who have donated organs

Deborah Sherer is a journalist who maintains close ties with families who have donated organs of their deceased loved ones. These families have saved the lives of thousands in need of organ transplants through the act of organ donation. However, in the long run, the public tends to forget about them, and some of these families may be experiencing economic hardships.

Despite this, Deborah Sherer never forgets about them. She reaches out to her personal friends and various organizations in the Israeli economy to collect food packages for these families during Passover. Her efforts were met with immediate success, as all organizations responded positively to her request. Sherer said, “It’s hard for me to hear that someone who helped and contributed wholeheartedly to others and society in Israel on an altruistic level, will be left without food for the holiday.”

As of today, Deborah has managed to raise over 2,000 food packages for these families. The collection is done completely voluntarily by Deborah during her private time without any public attention. It is a heartfelt gesture from Sherer to ensure that these families are taken care of during the holiday season.
