Boyne City, Michigan is proud to call David Whisker one of its own. Whisker works for B.C. Pizza, an establishment that began in the city and has been his home for years. In 2023, he set a world record by folding five 12-inch pizza boxes in just 17.038 seconds. This year, although he didn’t break the record again, he still took home first place in the ‘Fastest Pizza Box Folding’ event at ‘The International Pizza Expo’ in Las Vegas. This marks his third consecutive win in the competition.
Whisker wasn’t done there, however. He also took second place in the ‘Fastest Dough’ category at the expo. Competitors must toss out five 12-ounce dough balls quickly and cover five 12-inch pizza screens in as little time as possible. Whisker finished this task in an impressive 37.094 seconds, just missing out on breaking another record. The competition consists of five events: Freestyle Acrobatic Dough Tossing, Fastest Dough, Largest Dough Stretch, Fastest Pizza Box Folding, and The Pizza Triathlon.
