The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, has canceled all events for the European elections scheduled for Saturday after being a victim of an attack last Friday. The attack caused her “mild whiplash” according to the latest medical report picked up by national media. The perpetrator, a 39-year-old man, has been arrested and will appear in court on Saturday.

According to witnesses, the attacker pushed the Prime Minister who lost her balance but did not fall to the ground. As a precaution, Frederiksen will not attend the events scheduled for Saturday in various areas around Copenhagen. The incident has left Frederiksen feeling “altered” according to a statement collected by the ‘Jyllands-Posten’.

In light of the attack, the prime minister has decided to prioritize her safety and well-being by avoiding public events. Despite the incident, Frederiksen remains dedicated to her duties as the head of the Danish Government and will continue to fulfill her responsibilities while ensuring her security is not compromised. The attack has brought attention to the security measures surrounding political figures and the importance of ensuring their safety during public appearances.
