Dangerous escalation: Russian forces accuse Ukrainian forces of deadly shelling in Sadowe village, sparking fears of further escalation of war

Over 20 villagers killed in Russian occupied territory

On Friday, the Russian occupation administration accused Ukrainian forces of shelling an occupied village in the southern region of Cherson, resulting in the deaths of 22 people. The Russian-appointed head of the region’s administration, Wladimir Balancesaid, reported that a village shop full of people in Sadowe was hit in the attack. There were also 15 injured, with five in critical condition.

However, photos attached to a post on Telegram by Saldo did not provide a precise impression of the extent of the incident and there was no independent confirmation of the attack. If these figures are accurate, this would be one of the deadliest attacks by the Ukrainian army on its own territory under foreign rule during the Russian war of aggression that has lasted for over two years.
