Dangerous Dog Bite in Binh Phuoc: One Man’s Unfortunate Encounter with Rabies Leads to Tragic Consequences

One person died of rabies after being bitten by a dog, five others injured

On February 12, six people in Binh Phuoc were bitten by a neighbor’s dog. Despite being aware of the incident, none of them received rabies vaccinations. Four months later, on June 13, a 48-year-old man named Mr. Dieu KRot started experiencing symptoms such as body pain, fever, loss of appetite, and fear of wind, cold, and water. He was diagnosed with rabies and passed away three days later at the Bu Dang District Medical Center.

The epidemiological investigation revealed that Mr. KRot was one of six individuals bitten by dogs on February 12. The dog responsible for the bite died shortly after. The remaining five individuals have since received serum and vaccine injections and are being monitored for any health issues.

Rabies is a deadly disease that can only be prevented effectively through vaccination. Once it develops, there is no cure or treatment to stop its progression to death. It is crucial to seek medical attention immediately after being bitten by an animal to prevent the disease from spreading and causing harm to others.

The Bu Dang District Medical Center confirmed Mr. KRot’s death on June 18, attributing it to a dog bite that occurred four months prior. This unfortunate incident highlights the importance of seeking medical attention promptly after being bitten by an animal to prevent the spread of infectious diseases like rabies.

It is important for people in Binh Phuoc and other areas where animals may pose a risk to take precautions such as avoiding contact with stray animals or taking necessary measures if they encounter them to prevent potential accidents like this from happening again in the future.
