Cowboys hold tryouts for Gareon Conley and Deandre Baker

On Tuesday, the Cowboys held tryouts for two former first-round picks and two linebackers. The cornerbacks Gareon Conley and Deandre Baker were among those present, joined by linebackers Willie Harvey Jr. and Noah Dawkins.

Gareon Conley, who played for the D.C. Defenders in the UFL this year, was originally a first-round pick of the Raiders in 2017. After two years with the Raiders, he was traded to the Texans in 2019 but missed the 2020 season due to injury. As a result, Conley has not played in an NFL game for four seasons.

Deandre Baker, Conley’s teammate this year, previously played for the Chiefs in 2020 and 2021. The Giants selected him in the first round of the 2019 draft, but he was waived in 2020 following an arrest for armed robbery. The charges against Baker were later dropped.

The two linebackers present at the tryouts were Willie Harvey Jr., who played for the Colts last season, and Noah Dawkins, who spent time with both the Packers and Redskins over the past few years.
