Czech Euro squad includes West Ham’s Soucek and Coufal

The Czech Republic’s provisional squad for the upcoming European Championships in Germany has been announced, with Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal among the players selected. Soucek, who has 68 caps, will captain the team, while Coufal has regained his place after being sent home in November.

The squad also includes players from Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and German Cup-winning team. The Czech Republic made it to the quarter-finals at Euro 2020 before being knocked out by Denmark. This year, they will open against Portugal before facing Georgia and Turkey in Group D matches.

Goalkeepers Jindrich Stanek, Matej Kovar, and Vitezslav Jaros are among the players selected for the tournament. Defenders such as Ladislav Krejci and Vladimir Coufal will also feature in the squad. In midfield, Tomas Soucek and Antonin Barak will play alongside each other, while Patrik Schick and Adam Hlozek are expected to lead the attack.
