Customers Support Higher Prices for Quality Cleaning Services: I-Mens’ Move Aligns with Efforts to Improve Wages for Domestic Helpers

Customer remains loyal even when service voucher price increases greatly

Recently, I-mens, a cleaning service provider, announced that they had increased the price of their services from 9 to 14 euros per hour. Despite this significant price hike, the company did not experience a significant decrease in customers. In fact, only 623 out of 12,000 customers canceled their contracts due to the price increase. This suggests that customers recognize the value of paying more for quality cleaning assistance and support the efforts to improve wages and working conditions for cleaning assistants.

The decision to raise prices was made by I-mens in order to pay domestic helpers more and provide better guidance. This move aligns with the requests made by Federgon, the employers’ federation which has been advocating for higher wages and better working conditions for cleaning assistants. Federgon has been calling for a 5 euro increase in prices but is relying on the Flemish government to make this change.

Only three parties currently support an increase in prices for cleaning services: Vooruit, Groen, and CD&V. However, I-mens’ decision to raise prices was not met with resistance from its customers who continued to use their services despite the higher costs.

In conclusion, I-mens’ decision to increase prices has not deterred customers who recognize the value of paying more for quality cleaning assistance and support efforts to improve wages and working conditions for cleaning assistants.
