Croatian Student Shines in International English Language Competition: Ivano Radić Secures First Place at HIPPO Olympiad

Croatian students make it to the finals of an international English competition

In September, around 250 finalists from a pool of approximately 88 thousand candidates will gather in Assisi, Italy, for the HIPPO Olympiad “English Without Borders,” an international competition aimed at promoting English language learning and fostering tolerance and cultural exchange. Among the finalists are twenty Croatian students who qualified for the event.

The best performer among the Croatian students was Ivano Radić from the Elementary School Pučiša, who secured first place in the category for 7th and 8th grade students at a competition held in Lido di Jesolo, Italy. This achievement marked the only first place win for Croatia in the competition. The European qualifications saw participation from students representing 23 countries, with Ivano’s mentor, Srđana Vranjičić, praising his hard work and dedication as a shining example of how these competitions can help build independence, self-confidence, and critical thinking skills in children while exposing them to different cultures and perspectives.
