Cristiano Ronaldo breaks the Goal-Scoring Record in Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo has made history by breaking the record for the most goals scored in a Saudi Pro League season. In Al-Nassr’s 4-2 win against Al-Ittihad, the 39-year-old scored twice, bringing his total for the season to 35 goals. This surpassed Abderrazak Hamdallah’s record of 34 goals from the 2018-19 season while playing for the same team.

Ronaldo almost scored in the 10th minute but his effort was ruled out for offside. He then equalized the record just before halftime by controlling a long ball and slotting it home. In the second half, Ronaldo was brought down in the box resulting in a red card for his opponent, but he managed to score his 35th goal with a header. The match ended in a 4-2 victory for Al-Nassr, with Abdulrahman Ghareeb and Meshari Al-Nemer also getting on the scoresheet. Despite finishing second in the league, Al-Nassr ended the season 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal but a comfortable 17 points ahead of third-placed Al-Ahli.
