County Leaders Discuss Politics, Business and More on CBS Detroit’s Michigan Matters

County Executives from Michigan’s Big 3 Discuss Politics and Business

In a special episode of CBS Detroit’s Michigan Matters, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, and Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter discussed politics, business, and more. As the top elected county leaders in the Metro Detroit region, they addressed the presidential contest and what it will take for Joe Biden and Donald Trump to win Michigan, a critical state in the race.

During the episode, Hackel updated a previous conversation about his potential run for governor in Michigan as Gretchen Whitmer is term-limited. Evans clarified that he has no interest in running for Detroit mayor and discussed plans to bring together Metro Detroit Airport, Detroit City Airport, and other entities in a new way. Coulter highlighted the move of his county’s offices to downtown Pontiac and the use of 3D imaging to reinvent businesses.

Hackel also provided an update on Selfridge and his efforts to secure more federal funding for it. The show now airs at 5:30 a.m. on Sundays on CBS Detroit and at noon on Sundays on Detroit 50 WKBD. Carol Cain, the 13-time Emmy-winning senior producer and host of Michigan Matters, leads the show.
