On the evening of May 30, the naval and air forces of the US and British armies launched a coordinated attack on 13 Houthi targets in different parts of Yemen. The operation was in response to recent Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The targets included fortified underground facilities, missile launchers, command posts, and one of the Houthi ships. Additionally, eight unmanned aerial vehicles that were ready to be launched were also attacked. The attacks on Houthi targets came after a statement by Abdel Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Ansar Allah group, who announced the start of the “fourth phase” of their operation and threatened to increase the intensity of attacks on ships and expand their list of targets.
Al-Houthi mentioned that since November 2023, 129 ships have been attacked, with ten ships linked to the US, UK, and Israel targeted just this week. The operations were carried out in various seas, including the Red Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean.
Meanwhile, Houthi news agency Al-Masirah reported overnight that at least two people were killed and ten wounded as a result of a strike on a radio station building in Hodeidah. However, by noon, the death toll had risen to 56. Houthi Politburo member Ali al-Kahum stated that Yemen will not surrender and that the Americans and British are opening the gates of hell with their actions against his country’s sovereignty.
