Controversy Surrounds New Autonomy Law Amid Opposition in Emilia Romagna and Other Regions

The law on differentiated autonomy has been passed by the Northern League parliamentarians in the Chamber, with flags of the regions waving in the morning as the House gave its green light. However, some regions in the South are facing opposition to the law, with a ‘southern front’ that may even threaten majority support. The center-right and opposition parties have clashed over the issue, creating a tense atmosphere both inside and outside of Parliament.

The next step is for the law to be sent to the President of the Republic for approval before being published in the Official Journal. The President will review it based on constitutional criteria, without being influenced by any political party.
