On Tuesday, the Warrick County Board of Health met to discuss the controversial suspension of Dr. Yeager without a reason. This suspension led to a halt in the issuance of birth and death certificates and administration of vaccines under his medical license. To address this issue, Dr. Julie Wohrley was appointed as the interim health officer, allowing services to resume temporarily.
However, Dr. Wohrley’s temporary appointment was set to expire, prompting a meeting to address the situation. During the meeting, a motion to appoint Dr. Julie Wohrley as the permanent health officer failed, but she will remain in the interim role for now. A hearing for Dr. Yeager is scheduled, where he will have the opportunity to defend himself against concerns raised by officials.
Concerns mentioned during the meeting include poor morale among staff members, lack of leadership from Dr. Yeager, and inflammatory statements attributed to him. Our reporter was present at the meeting and will provide a full recap on our upcoming news broadcast. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
