Connecticut Sun’s 7-0 Start: Narrowly Defeating the Dallas Wings and Maintaining Their Unbeaten Record

Sun remain undefeated after entertaining play turns disastrous for Wings

The Connecticut Sun’s 7-0 start to the 2024 WNBA season is nothing short of impressive. On Friday night, they narrowly defeated the Dallas Wings with a final score of 74-72, leaving Dallas struggling to keep up.

Despite their victory, the Sun almost suffered their first loss thanks to an incredible play by guard Sevgi Uzun in the final seconds of the game. Uzun attempted a game-winning shot that hit off the back of the rim, but Connecticut managed to secure the victory.

The Sun’s 7-0 start is already a record for their franchise, and they are currently leading Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks as the only undefeated team in the league. They still have a long way to go before matching some of the best starts in WNBA history.

The game against Dallas was not easy for Connecticut as they initially struggled and fell behind early on. However, they managed to come back and secure a narrow lead at halftime. Despite a late rally by Dallas, Connecticut held on to secure their victory.

Brionna Jones led Connecticut with 22 points, followed by Alyssa Thomas with 15 points and DeWanna Bonner with 12 points. For Dallas, Arike Ogunbowale and Maddy Siegrist were the leading scorers.

Connecticut’s next game is against Atlanta Dream on Sunday at 3 p.m ET, and they will look to continue their undefeated streak as they face off against their opponents.
