Colts Secure Star Defender DeForest Buckner with a $46 Million Contract Extension

Colts Sign Pro Bowl DT DeForest Buckner to Two-Year Extension Worth $46M, Reports Say

The Indianapolis Colts are focused on keeping their top players for the upcoming season, and they have done just that by re-signing DeForest Buckner. The announcement was made on Monday morning without revealing specific details about the extension, but multiple reports indicate that Buckner will be paid $46 million to remain with the team for another two years, extending his contract through 2026.

Buckner, a 30-year-old who is entering his ninth NFL season, has been an integral part of the Colts’ defense since joining the team in 2020 through a trade with the San Francisco 49ers. Over his career, he has amassed impressive statistics, including 166 solo tackles, 32.5 sacks, 42 tackles for loss, 87 QB hits, and six forced fumbles. Buckner has also been selected to three Pro Bowls.

The Colts have re-signed several other key players from their 2023 squad, bringing the total to ten players. Despite finishing the previous season with a record of 9-8
