Collaborating to Boost Peru’s Video Game Industry: Mincul and CVA Sign Framework Agreement for Inter-Institutional Support

Recently, the Culture Ministry (Mincul) and the Associated Video Game Companies of Peru (CVA) signed a framework agreement for inter-institutional collaboration aimed at promoting the development and growth of the video game industry in the country. This agreement, signed on June 26, outlines guidelines for collaboration between the parties to support academic training, capacity building activities, and the exchange of strategic information.

During the signing ceremony, key figures in the video game industry in Peru shared their experiences representing Peru at international festivals, discussed their latest projects, and highlighted the growth achieved in the industry. The Associated Video Game Companies of Peru (CVA), established in 2014, serves as a trade organization that brings together major companies in the video game development sector in Peru. The CVA’s mission is to foster business development, training, and growth in the video game industry while also representing its members and developer community to both public and private entities.

The culture ministry has recognized that this rapidly growing industry requires support from government institutions to continue its progression. With this agreement, Mincul aims to leverage expertise and resources to drive innovation and growth within the industry. In addition to providing support for academic training and capacity building activities, Mincul will work closely with CVA to share strategic information that can help propel the industry forward.

This agreement signifies a collaborative effort by Mincul and CVA to promote continued success and innovation within Peru’s burgeoning video game industry. With more than two decades since its establishment as an independent developer studio, Peru’s video game industry has grown exponentially with acclaimed games like “Dicefolk,” “Tunche,” “Arrog,” “Imp of Sun” showcasing Peru’s talent on an international stage. As such, it is crucial that institutions such as Mincul continue to support this rapidly developing sector to ensure continued success.
