CNBC Expands into the Sports Industry with Launch of CNBC Sport

CNBC has launched a new vertical called CNBC Sport, which is dedicated to sports business news. The network has recruited experienced sports business journalist Michael Ozanian to join the team as senior sports reporter. In his new role, Ozanian will provide data-driven rankings, breaking news, and analysis of major sports business moves.

Ozanian has nearly 30 years of experience at Forbes, where he was known for his team valuation coverage. Alongside Ozanian, CNBC announced that media reporter Alex Sherman will now cover both media and sports, Contessa Brewer will report on sports gambling, Scott Wapner will interview sports business leaders, and Jessica Golden will report and produce sports content for CNBC Sport.

CNBC aims to cater to an engaged sports business audience and investors in the rapidly growing sports sector with this launch. According to CNBC President KC Sullivan, the launch of CNBC Sport reflects the growing importance of sports in the media landscape. Other media outlets like Puck News have also expanded their sports coverage with experienced journalists. Streaming services like Netflix have made headlines by including NFL games in their programming.

CNBC Sport will provide analysis, updates, and insider insights to help viewers stay informed about the ever-evolving sports business industry.
