Clark County, Nevada: New Health and Food Handler Cards Require In-Person Testing and Valid Identification

Southern Nevada Health District’s Food Handler Safety Training Card Program

In Clark County, Nevada, first-time applicants for a Food Handler Card or Health Card must take an in-person food safety test. This test can be scheduled or taken on a walk-in basis at one of the Health District’s locations.

Unfortunately, online testing is not available for first-time applicants. All testing must be completed at an SNHD office. The test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, and a passing score of 70% or better is required. Once the test is passed, a $20 card fee will be collected and a three-year Food Handler Card will be issued.

It is essential to present valid identification that meets the Health District’s ID policy during in-person testing. Only the test applicant is allowed to enter the testing area due to space limitations. Therefore, children, family members, or friends will not be admitted into the testing area.
