City of Alexandria’s Small Business Resiliency Grant Program Provides $7,000 Assistance to Local Entrepreneurs.

Alexandria announces $7,000 in grant funding available for small businesses

The City of Alexandria has announced a grant program that offers $7,000 in assistance to qualifying local small businesses. The Small Business Resiliency (SBR) Grant program is administered by the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), and aims to help businesses overcome challenges and access essential resources. This initiative highlights the city’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and creating a thriving business environment.

To be eligible for the grant, businesses must meet certain criteria, including having a location in Alexandria, having 100 or fewer employees, being established and revenue-generating before December 31, 2023, and having business revenue that did not exceed $250,000 in 2022 or 2023. They must also be in good standing with local taxes and not currently involved in bankruptcy proceedings. Non-profits, financial institutions, gig economy contractors, corporate-owned locations, subsidiaries or franchise businesses are not eligible unless they are entirely owned and operated within Alexandria. The grant prioritizes applications from businesses that have not previously received federally funded City grants and those located in areas with low economic activity indicators.

Interested applicants can submit their applications through the LEDC website from May 28 to June 18. A virtual webinar about the program will take place on May 23
