Cincinnati Bengals Defensive End Trey Hendrickson Seeks Trade for More Long-Term Security Amid Contract Disputes

Report: yet another Bengals star has asked for a trade

In a recent development, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson has requested a trade. Despite being under contract for two more years, Hendrickson is seeking more long-term security than the team has offered. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hendrickson has asked the Bengals to move him in search of a new home.

Despite their initial reluctance, the Bengals have informed Hendrickson that they are open to discussing a trade if it means keeping their star player happy. This comes after star wide receiver Tee Higgins also requested a trade as he looks for a long-term deal.

Hendrickson had an impressive 2021 season, recording 17.5 sacks, the second-most in the NFL, along with 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits. In his three seasons with the Bengals, he has accumulated 39.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 76 quarterback hits in 48 games. Additionally, Hendrickson has earned three Pro Bowl selections during his time with the team.
