Christian McCaffrey Signed Historic Extension with 49ers: $19 Million Annual Average

Christian McCaffrey receives contract extension from 49ers

The 49ers and Christian McCaffrey have agreed to a two-year extension, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league. This is a significant increase from his original four-year, $64 million extension that he signed with the Panthers. Under the new agreement, McCaffrey will be under contract for the next four years with an average annual salary of $19 million.

McCaffrey’s performance on the field speaks for itself, with over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 21 total touchdowns in 2023. In 2019, he achieved a rare feat by becoming only the third player in NFL history to surpass 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season, joining the ranks of Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig. Despite his exceptional performance on the field, McCaffrey was not compensated accordingly until now.

Stay tuned for more details on the breakdown of McCaffrey’s new contract with the 49ers.
