A twin-engine Lockheed 12A crashed shortly after departing from Chino Airport, resulting in the death of two individuals onboard. The crash occurred around 12:35 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Crews arrived at the scene and found the plane off the runway.
Two fatalities were confirmed by a spokesperson for the Chino Valley Fire District. No other individuals were onboard the plane, and no one on the ground was injured. The identities of the deceased individuals have not been released yet.
According to a witness, two men who were killed in the crash were part of a Father’s Day event at Yanks Air Museum. The witness described the incident in detail, noting that the plane took a sharp left turn, descended and crashed, causing an immediate explosion upon impact.
