China Implements New Export Controls on Aerospace Technology and Components to Protect National Security and Comply with Non-Proliferation Obligions

China introduces export restrictions on aviation and space technology and components

In an effort to protect national security and fulfill international obligations related to non-proliferation, China has announced export controls on aviation and aerospace technology and components. Starting from July 1st, the export of equipment, software, and technology used in the manufacturing of aerospace structures and engines will require permission.

The Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) stated that specific tools, dyes, fixtures, and other process equipment designed for superplastic forming/diffusion bonding of titanium, aluminum, and their alloys will also be restricted for export. Additionally, software and related technologies associated with these products will fall under the export control measures.
