Young female scientists in China receive awards

On April 28, 2024, Shen Yiqin, Chinese State Councilor and president of the All-China Women’s Federation, attended an award ceremony in Beijing to recognize the achievements of young female scientists. The ceremony honored 20 individuals and five teams with a special award dedicated to young female scientists. Since its inception in 2004, the award has recognized 204 outstanding women in the science field.

Shen praised the dedication of these talented young minds to science and encouraged them to continue pushing the boundaries of scientific research. She emphasized their importance in China’s quest for greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology, as well as its efforts to develop new quality productive forces and promote high-quality development. The ceremony was a testament to the vital role that these young scientists play in shaping China’s future.
