During the Chicago Sky’s game against the Connecticut Sun, rookie Angel Reese had a strong reaction to Alyssa Thomas’ ejection. Reese spoke openly about the incident, expressing gratitude towards Thomas for sending a message with her hard foul. Despite being a rookie, Reese appreciated that opponents were not showing her any special treatment.
Reese explained that she was able to get back up and keep going after the foul, emphasizing that players are not supposed to be nice to her on the court. She made it clear that there were no hard feelings after the incident, even though Thomas was ejected for the flagrant-two foul.
The foul occurred during a contested rebound, where Thomas used one arm to knock Reese to the floor. Despite the rough play, Reese stayed in the game and continued to contribute with 13 points and five rebounds. Unfortunately, the Sky fell short in their home opener, losing to the Sun by a narrow margin.
With the loss, the Sky are now 2-2 on the season while the Sun maintained their perfect 5-0 record. Chicago will look to bounce back in their next game against the Seattle Storm at Wintrust Arena on Tuesday night, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
