Chicago Bears Offensive Lineman Teven Jenkins: Navigating a Uncertain Contract Extension Future Amidst Injury Concerns

Teven Jenkins seeks contract extension, Bears yet to extend offer

Teven Jenkins, the Chicago Bears offensive lineman, is entering his final year of his rookie contract and hopes to secure a long-term deal with the team. However, negotiations have not yet begun between Jenkins and the Bears. Jenkins and his agent have expressed interest in continuing with the team but have not received an offer from them.

As of now, Jenkins stated that there is no contract extension on the table with the Bears and described the situation as “up in the air.” Despite this, he is focused on staying healthy for the upcoming season and proving his value on the field. The Bears selected Jenkins with the 39th overall pick in the 2021 draft, but he has faced challenges staying healthy throughout his first three seasons, playing only 31 games with 24 starts.

However, last season, when healthy, Jenkins played well and is determined to stay injury-free for all of next season. His top priority is to play all 17 games and showcase his skills to attract a significant second contract next year, whether with the Bears or another team.
