Challenging the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for Most Games Played in a Day!

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) is gearing up to set a new world record on July 20, 2024. FIDE aims to break the current Guinness World Record for the most chess games played in 24 hours. This event will mark FIDE’s centennial and International Chess Day.

Chess enthusiasts of all skill levels, from beginners to grandmasters, are invited to join in the celebration either online or offline from anywhere in the world. To participate, individuals must play at least one 5-minute game on platforms like chess.com or lichess.com between July 20, 2024, 00:00:00 CEST and July 21, 2024, 00:00:00 CEST. Organizers can also plan their own events for the Guinness World Record attempt while ensuring they adhere to all requirements and register them on the attempt’s landing page before July 15, 2024.
