Chengdu 2025 Unveils Striking Logo for The World Games: Blending Chinese Culture and Unity Values

New Logo Revealed for The World Games Chengdu 2025, Showcasing Men’s and Women’s Softball- World Baseball Softball Confederation

The Chengdu 2025 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has unveiled the new logo for the 12th edition of The World Games, which will feature women’s softball and men’s softball with eight teams each. The logo design was showcased on May 17, 2024, and the Chengdu 2025 mascot and slogan will be revealed at the ‘One Year to Go’ event in August 2024.

The design of the Chengdu 2025 logo draws inspiration from iconic Chinese symbols such as the giant panda, the hibiscus flower, and the Chinese knot. The top part of the logo cleverly incorporates the facial features of the giant panda, reflecting the history and culture of Chengdu as the host city and Sichuan Province. The centre of the logo features a Chinese knot symbolizing unity, prosperity, and luck, emphasizing the importance of unity and embodying the core values of The World Games.

Moreover, the overall design also takes inspiration from hibiscus flowers by seamlessly integrating a giant panda with a Chinese knot into one image. This captures perfectly Chengdu’s essence within The World Games emblem while achieving a balanced and harmonious color scheme by using cool colors vertically and warm colors horizontally.

With only under 450 days left until The World Games 2025 kicks off from August 7-17, 2025 featuring 35 sports, 61 disciplines, and a total of 254 medal events, this announcement coincides with an upcoming event that includes women’s softball and men’s softball with eight teams each. Each discipline will have eight competing teams – China will automatically qualify as host country; six teams from WBSC Men’s Softball Rankings as well as six teams from WBSC Women’s Softball Rankings on December 31st – will earn an automatic spot; while one wild card team selected by WBSC will complete it up to eight participants for each gender event.
