Florian Plettenberg has reported that Chelsea is considering signing TSG Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier during the summer transfer window. The Premier League club has been monitoring the 21-year-old player in recent days and could potentially make a move for him. Beier had a successful season with Hoffenheim, scoring 16 goals and providing 3 assists in the Bundesliga.
At the beginning of the season, Beier had dreams of making Germany’s squad for Euro 2024, and he was able to achieve that goal. Although he has not yet played in the competition, it is clear that Beier has the potential to become a regular member of the German national team if he continues to perform well. With a release clause of around €30 million plus salary and signing fees, Beier will not be an inexpensive acquisition for any interested club.
Several Premier League teams and Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are also reportedly interested in signing Beier. While Chelsea is currently not considered the front-runners in the race to secure his signature, it remains uncertain where he will end up playing next season as multiple clubs vie for his services.
