Center Corey Linsley Released by Chargers, Set to Embark on New Chapter with Family after Retirement Announcement

Corey Linsley released by Chargers as he prepares to retire

Corey Linsley, the center for the Chargers, has been released from the team on Wednesday. Last season, Linsley missed most of the games due to a heart condition that put him on the non-football illness list. In January, he announced his plans to retire due to the issue. John Spanos, president of football operations for the Chargers, has praised Linsley’s professionalism and leadership skills.

Linsley was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2014 and joined the Chargers in 2021. During his career, he started all 144 games he played for both teams, establishing himself as a reliable and consistent presence on the field. Despite taking his last snap in the NFL, Spanos expressed excitement for what’s next for Linsley and his family. He wished them all the best as they embark on their next chapter together.
