Celebrating the Life of Henri: A Family’s Heartfelt Tribute to a Young Boy Taken Away too Soon

Investigations Launched against Tram Drivers in Leipzig Following Tragic Death of 3 Boys

On Easter Sunday, tragedy struck in Leipzig as a little boy named Henri from the USA lost his life in a fatal accident. The three-year-old was getting off the tram when he stumbled and fell under the approaching train, resulting in his untimely death at the scene. The tram driver is now under investigation for suspected negligent homicide, as confirmed by senior public prosecutor Ricardo Schulz.

Despite their devastating loss, Henri’s family has invited everyone who knew him to attend his funeral service. They want to celebrate his life by requesting attendees to wear “white angels” or cheerful colors instead of traditional black clothing. Henri was a joyful child and a big fan of dinosaurs, which is why they want to honor his memory in a colorful and uplifting way.

The family will be streaming the funeral service and plan to hold a eulogy in German to express their gratitude for the support they have received in Germany. Originally from Boston, they moved to Leipzig at the beginning of the year when Henri’s father got a job at the Max Planck Institute. They were looking forward to their new life in Saxony, but the tragic accident has forever changed their lives.
