Celebrating 100 Seasons: The New York Giants’ Century Red Uniform and Exciting Homecoming Games

New York Giants Unveil “Century Red” Uniforms in Celebration of Franchise’s 100th Season

In honor of their 100th season, the New York Giants will be wearing special “Century Red” uniforms for up to two games during the 2024 NFL season. These uniforms are a nod to the team’s early years and feature a design that combines elements from different eras in the franchise’s history.

The team’s director of creative services, Doug Murphy, stated that the “Century Red” uniform is a modern twist on the Giants’ earliest designs and is meant to honor the players who laid the foundation for Giants football. The Giants have not announced which two games of the 2024 season they will wear these uniforms, but potential matchups could be against historical rivals like the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, or Washington Commanders.

The uniform design includes blue and white striped red socks from the Giants’ inaugural 1925 season, red jerseys with blue accents from their 1933 championship-winning season, and a blue and red winged helmet to honor the 1938 title. The tan pants are a throwback to the Giants’ first season in 1925 when Tim Mara bought the team for $500.

The Giants will also wear a special “100 Seasons” patch on their jerseys, shaped like the Polo Grounds where the team first played in 1925. The logo features the outline of old Giants Stadium in the zeros of “100” and a football named “The Duke” in honor of Wellington Mara, with eight laces representing the team’s eight NFL championships.

As part of their celebration of their centennial year, fans can expect some exciting gameplay from this iconic team as they kick off their 2024 season against historical rivals at MetLife Stadium on September 8th.
