Celebrate Body Positivity and Bicycle Power with the World Naked Bike Ride in Chicago”.

This weekend, World Naked Bike Ride comes to the streets of Chicago – NBC Chicago

On Saturday, the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) will be held in Chicago and across the U.S. The event starts at 8 p.m. and runs until about midnight, covering a route of approximately 14 miles as planned by the organizers.

The WNBR website explains that the event is a way to celebrate the power of bicycles and the beauty of people through a “clothing-optional” people-powered event. It aims to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists and promote body positivity. Participants are encouraged to embrace the theme of “bare-as-you-dare”, with body paint, underwear, and costumes being encouraged. However, it’s important to note that full-frontal nudity is considered illegal in Chicago, so participants engage in it at their own risk.

The annual ride typically follows a similar route from previous years, with the official route being posted on the Chicago World Naked Bike Ride Facebook page on Friday evening. Cyclists and skaters are expected to check in between 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, rain or shine. Participants are advised to come prepared for any weather conditions by bringing a helmet light, water, snacks, shoes, and clothes.

In terms of safety, participants are encouraged to stick together as a group, follow the guidance of bike marshals, and be prepared to assist others in case of an emergency. The event emphasizes leaving no trace at the end of the ride while encouraging everyone to have a great time.

The World Naked Bike Ride typically concludes with an afterparty
