CeeDee Lamb’s Future with the Cowboys in Limbo: A Hold-In Waits in the Wings

Holdout Possible for CeeDee Lamb

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is entering his final year of his rookie contract and uncertainty surrounds his participation in offseason activities. If he does not receive the contract extension he desires, Lamb may consider engaging in a “hold in” once mandatory work begins. This would involve showing up but refraining from participating in practices or other activities that could result in injury.

Lamb was selected by the Cowboys with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft and had a standout season where he led the league in catches with 135, while also achieving career highs in yards (1,749) and touchdowns (12). With his value at an all-time high, Lamb is looking to use his leverage to secure the long-term contract he believes he deserves.
