CBS Sports Launches New Women’s Soccer Coverage with Match Between Washington Spirit and NJ/NY Gotham FC

CBS Sports to debut new partnership with NWSL, featuring record number of matches on network TV.

CBS Sports kicked off its coverage of the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season with a match between the Washington Spirit and NJ/NY Gotham FC on April 20. The match was broadcast live on CBS at 1 PM, ET and streamed live on Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers to enjoy.

CBS Sports Golazo Network provided pregame coverage from 11 AM-12 PM, ET before the match began. The studio analysts for the season include Darian Jenkins, Brianna Scurry, Shannon Boxx, Lisa Carlin, and Lianne Sanderson. Match announcers for the season will be Chris Wittyngham and Lori Lindsey, as well as Jordan Angeli, Jacqui Oatley, Kate Scott, Aly Trost Martin, Christina Unkel serving as rules analyst. Additional match and studio announcers will be announced at a later date.

CBS Sports’ partnership with NWSL marks the beginning of their new deal which will see up to 12 matches per season broadcast on television on CBS and Paramount+. In addition to live match coverage, CBS Sports Golazo Network will offer extensive NWSL coverage on its dedicated women’s soccer show ATTACKING THIRD as well as other studio programming such as MORNING FOOTY, BOX 2 BOX, and SCORELINE. The 2024 NWSL Championship will air live on CBS in primetime for the third consecutive year on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Julie Keryc serves as Senior Coordinating Producer for CBS Sports’ NWSL coverage while Mike Nastri serves as Coordinating Producer for studio coverage under Harold Bryant’s leadership as Executive Producer and Executive Vice President of Production. Carlo Gennarini is Lead Producer for the NWSL while Steve Karasik is Senior Vice President of Remote Production and Pete Radovich is Senior Creative Director and Vice President of Production for CBS Sports.
