Go Fest 2024 Brings Pokémon Fever to Madrid

Madrid is set to host the largest in-person event for popular mobile video game Pokémon Go this weekend. Players from various countries will gather for three days to explore the city in a unique way. The festival, which spans from June 14 to 16, will offer merchandise, promotional materials, and an exclusive special investigation.

New Pokémon, including Mashadow, Klefki, and Shiny Crabrawler, will debut at the event. The main location for the festival is Juan Carlos I Park, where players can interact with trainers from around the world. Over 80% of participants come from outside Spain.

The festival encourages visitors to explore lesser-known sites like Vista Alegre Park, Conde Duque Center for Contemporary Art, and Beti Jai fronton through five official routes in the city center. This allows players to discover Madrid through the game while also promoting outdoor activity and social interaction among participants.

The Pokémon Go Fest highlights the global community of Pokémon Go players with over 100,000 coaches expected to participate. The festival will also have in-person stops in Sendai (Japan) and New York (United States) and a global and digital event on July 13 and 14. The event combines outdoor activity with virtual experience, encouraging players to interact, make friends, and strategize like in team sports.
