Carrefour Takes Over Cora and Match Stores in Major Retail Restructuring: Implications for Employees and the French Retail Landscape

Cora and Match stores transitioning to Carrefour

The French retail sector is undergoing a major restructuring phase, with Carrefour officially acquiring the Cora and Match stores from the Louis Delhaize group. This move, announced a year ago and formalized in July 2023, marks a significant and structuring operation for Carrefour CEO Alexandre Bompard.

The acquisition of these stores, totaling 175 locations, is considered the most significant since the purchase of Promodes over twenty years ago, which included brands like Continent, Champion, and Shopi. Despite the Competition Authority not yet ruling on the matter, Carrefour has been granted an exemption to start the integration process of the acquired stores, including the Provera purchasing center. This includes a total of 22,000 employees across the Cora hypermarkets and Match supermarkets in the east and north of France.

Among the content listed on these newly acquired stores are various articles and profiles related to gambling and online gaming platforms such as Togel Toto 4D, Ligaciputra, and online slot games. Additionally, there are links to resources for certificate verification, online shopping guides and profiles of individuals in photography and other fields of interest.

Overall, this expansion of Carrefour into Cora and Match stores represents a significant development in the French retail landscape with implications for employees
