Carlisle United recently terminated the contract of midfielder Jayden Harris a year early by mutual agreement. The 24-year-old, who began his career in the youth system at Fulham, joined Carlisle from Aldershot on a three-year deal in 2022. However, he spent a significant portion of last season on loan at Eastleigh in the National League.
Despite making 28 appearances for the team over three seasons, Harris spent most of his time with Carlisle on loan. Upon his return from loan in January, he played 15 games for Eastleigh before rejoining Carlisle. Manager Paul Simpson acknowledged that Harris was brought in as a development project but unfortunately things did not work out as planned.
Simpson expressed his desire to have a squad of players who are fully committed to the team’s goals and objectives as they approach the upcoming pre-season. Harris’s departure opens up opportunities for new players to come in and make their mark on the team as they aim for success in the future.
