Carle Health Nurses Recognized as Leaders in Nursing Care by ANCC Magnet Recognition Program

Carle Health’s Methodist, Proctor, and Pekin hospitals recognized for nursing and organizational excellence

Nurses at Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Proctor Hospital, and Carle Health Pekin Hospital have been recognized as leading healthcare centers for nursing care by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. This prestigious recognition reflects the incredible work that nurses at these hospitals do every day to provide world-class nursing care that exceeds national healthcare benchmarks in patient satisfaction, safety, and nurse engagement.

Carle Health Pekin has received Magnet® recognition for the first time, while Carle Health Methodist has achieved its fifth Magnet designation and Carle Health Proctor has earned its second Magnet designation. These three hospitals are part of the Carle Health Greater Peoria Service Area, which is known for empowering nurses who engage in professional growth and seek leadership opportunities.

Magnet recognition is a mark of nursing and organizational excellence, achieved by hospitals that support and empower nurses and interdisciplinary teams. The components of Magnet recognition include transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge, and empirical outcomes. Only 10% of healthcare organizations nationwide are Magnet-designated, with fewer than 1% having five consecutive designations or greater. In Illinois, only 45 healthcare organizations have received Magnet designation.

This recognition highlights the exceptional care provided by nurses at all three hospitals, benefiting patients and communities. In addition to these three hospitals, other Carle Health entities that are also Magnet-designated include Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle BroMenn Medical Center
