Cardiovascular Technology Program at Polk State College: Preparing Students for In-Demand Careers in Healthcare

Application for Polk State Cardiovascular Technology program for the 2024-25 school year available starting April 15th

The Polk State College’s Cardiovascular Technology Program for the 2024-2025 Academic Year is now accepting applications from April 15 to June 30. This program provides students with an Associate in Science in Cardiovascular Technology, preparing them for careers as cardiovascular technologists. These professionals assist physicians during procedures such as angioplasty and stenting, monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, and provide pre- and post-procedural care.

Graduates of this program have found employment in cardiac catheterization labs in hospitals and freestanding clinics as healthcare associates. Polk State Cardiovascular Technology has had a 100% job-placement rate from 2020-2022, along with a 90% credentialing exam pass rate on first attempts during the same time period. This success demonstrates the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for careers in this growing field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for cardiovascular technologists and technicians is expected to grow by 10% from 2022-2032, which is faster than the average growth of other occupations.
