Cardinals Prepare for 2024 Season Opener as Offensive Lineman Dennis Daley Looks to Make an Impact

Countdown: 71 days until the Cardinals face off against the Bills in season opener

As the NFL offseason nears its end and the start of the 2024 season approaches, the Arizona Cardinals are preparing for their regular-season opener. In just 71 days, they will face the Buffalo Bills on the road at Highmark Stadium. Currently wearing No. 71 for the team is offensive lineman Dennis Daley, who is entering his second year with the Cardinals but has yet to make a significant impact.

During his rookie season, Daley started off on injured reserve due to an ankle injury sustained in the preseason finale. Throughout the season, he appeared in three games and started at left guard for one game, making him one of four players to start at that position. Prior to Daley, the No. 71 spot was held by offensive lineman Justin Murray, who played for the Cardinals from 2019 to 2021 after being claimed off waivers.

Murray quickly became a starter after joining the team, starting 12 games at right tackle in 2019 and seven games at guard the following year. However, a back injury hindered his performance, causing him to play only three games in 2021. After leaving the Cardinals, Murray played for the Bills and Titans, appearing in nine games over two seasons. Despite his injury setbacks, Murray was a reliable starter for about a year and a half.
