Canopius Group has appointed Chris Getty as cyber and technology underwriter, effective immediately. He will be reporting directly to Mike Shen, head of cyber & technology at London Market. Getty brings over nine years of experience in cyber insurance to Canopius, having previously worked at Talbot Underwriting where he led the London and New York underwriting teams.
This appointment is part of a series of new hires at Canopius Cyber and Technology business, with Sam Minshaw appointed as cyber claims manager earlier in the year and Alex Fyfe joining as cyber claims adjuster in March. Catherine Sims was also appointed as cyber claims adjuster in New York earlier this year. Shen stated, “Chris is a highly regarded underwriter and leader in the cyber market. Our cyber book in London has experienced rapid growth due to expert underwriting, product innovation, and diversification. Bringing in top talent like Chris will help us continue this progress and uphold the high standards expected from Canopius.”
Getty started his career at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP and is a qualified solicitor. He has a proven track record of success in the cyber insurance industry, with a deep understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies. His appointment comes as Canopius continues to grow its presence in the London market, driven by strong demand for its innovative products and services.
