According to a recent survey, 61% of Canadians and 54% of Americans consider their household finances to be good, which is consistent with last month’s results. However, almost six out of ten Canadians and Americans believe that their country is in recession, with a slight decrease in Canada from the previous month. Furthermore, nearly half of Canadians and 57% of Americans stated that they live paycheque to paycheque.
On the other hand, a survey on American politics shows that if the Presidential election were to happen today, Trump would secure 46% of the votes, while Biden would secure 45%, indicating a close race. A larger portion of Americans believe that Trump will win the 2024 presidential election, while a significant number think that things were better under Trump’s presidency compared to Biden’s. Moreover, a substantial number of Democrat voters, especially in the younger age group, would have preferred a different candidate than Joe Biden.
The methodology of the survey involved a web survey conducted from May 24 to 26, 2024, with 1,620 Canadians and 1,003 Americans aged 18 years and older randomly recruited from LEO’s online panel.
