Team Canada Victorious Over Norway in Hockey Worlds; Team USA Dominates France with Shutout Win

On May 16, 2024, Canada secured their fourth straight win at the ice hockey world championship by defeating Norway 4-1. The Canadian team showcased a strong defensive performance by not allowing a single shot on goal in the first two periods. Brandon Tanev and Andrew Mangiapane scored to give Canada a two-goal lead before Norway managed to score their first goal in the third period. Dylan Cozens and Jared McCann added two more goals for Canada, with goaltender Daws providing an assist.

Meanwhile, Sweden continued their perfect record by defeating Kazakstan 3-1 in Ostrava. Linus Johansson, Marcus Johansson, and Fabian Zetterlund scored for the Swedish team as they earned their fourth victory in the championship. Adil Beketayev scored the only goal for Kazakstan in the game.

In Ostrava, the United States had a dominant performance against France, winning 5-0. Matt Boldy scored two goals and had an assist, while Brock Nelson, Johnny Gaudreau, and Shane Pinto also found the back of the net. The American team’s first line of Boldy, Gaudreau, and Nelson was particularly effective in the game. Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic stopped all 10 shots he faced to secure the shutout.
